SandCup’s Opportunity to Build from the Ground Up

Not a challenge. Changing the digital workflows that benefit everyone in a nation’s economy came as a dream project for SandCup!

The ultimate goal was to ideate, design, and deliver access, trust, and feasibility for the daily needs of all Nigerians.

On-Ground Research Revealed a Staggering Reality

As we stepped into Nigeria, what unfolded was a serious constraint for the economy. Many users still depended on cash, informal agents, limited documentation, rural access, and high-cost credit.

Cash was not a weakness to remove immediately. It was the existing behavior the system had to respect.

The Solution

In collaboration with Quick MFB, SandCup entered early to ideate the digital journey of any Nigerian willing to bank, even if they don’t have a conventional bank account!

By acquiring and repositioning a neobank into a microfinance-led banking network across Nigeria, the first step reduced dependancy on physical banks.

With QuickMFB, the vision was simple:
Every Nigerian should be able to bank

Thus, a stage was setup for financial access to expand beyond regions and physical infrastruction, especially rural regions.

Capabilities We Brought To The Table

The Making of a True People’s Bank

QuickMFB is microfinance in function, reducing the gap between people and seamless banking.

NIN-Led Access

Users can begin with their National Identification Number (NIN), reducing the friction of complicated and slow documentation process that makes people dislike conventional banking.

Guided Onboarding

The first step into Quick MFB needed to be as simple as possible. So we kept individual onboarding simple through mobile number, OTP, and basic details like NIN. Business and corporate onboarding include identity checks, business details, document uploads, and director verification.

Designed for Trust

Trust had to be visible in every step. Clear consent, progressive KYC, transparent fees, and audit-ready controls help customers and agents feel safe while regulators retain the oversight a licensed microfinance bank requires.

Banking Layers That Power Quick MFB’s Purpose

Quick MFB is built on connected banking layers for access, transactions, credit, and ecosystem participation.

Cash, Brought Under Control

Cash remained a primary medium of money flow in Nigeria’s local economy. QuickCash is a unique bridge between familiar cash moment and digitally monitored finance.

It appoints Quick agents to support cash circulation, exchange, and redemption across everyday access points.

Through vouchers and Smart POS, people who still depend on cash can participate without being forced into a fully digital journey.

Resilient for the Real World

Quick MFB works where internet access, advanced devices, and nearby branches could not be assumed.

Working with SandCup helped us bring structure to a very ambitious idea. Quick MFB had to work for everyday Nigerians while still supporting the controls needed for a true micro finance bank.

SandCup understood that balance and helped build the system in a way that made the whole vision clearer and achievable.
